Juchitan Oaxaca México 1985, From his early works such as portraits and skeletons forged with smoke, up to their more recent work with conceptual dyes, Sabino Guisu maintains the use of mostly organic materials as a constant in his Work. His art is a path that runs through the history of man, from the first tracks recorded with ashes on the caverns, to the use of these ancient materials in the current exploration of new techniques for the production of an artistic object.
Possibly best known for the use of smoke than by others of his working materials such as: honey, propolis, pollen, bees and even cigars resulting this fundamentals for his artworks. Sabino´s Guisu art offers a vision of transculturation, and the spiritual brokenness between individual and his environment, focusing on themes such as death and random facts, reaching a deep personal reflection.
